As promised I have some cards based on Christmas wreaths to share with you today. Any of my friends will tell you that I collect wreaths in all shapes and forms and have actually been out today and accidentally bought two more; they were a little unusual so I was unable to resist! They are everywhere in my home and it gets a little out of control at Christmas ! I even have a welcome wreath on my front door; a lovely tradition which you will all be familiar with on the other side of the pond ! It took ages for me to explain to the neighbours that no, I hadn't forgotten to take down my Christmas wreath, but that it was a welcome wreath which was why I changed it regularly to reflect the seasons !
I mainly used the new stamp set " Pines and Poinsettias " and added a few familiar extras in where needed ! I love this set and tried to think of different ways to use it and it is turning out to be a great investment !
I have a pre-cut circle which I used to mark ( with small pencil dots, then you don't have to rub them out ) the position of my wreath and then stamped in crumb cake in a regular fashion around the circle. Berries were coloured in with my real red marker and then I added crystal effects to enhance, must practice getting this neater ! I then added another stamped wreath on top and the poinsettia and sentiment using dimentionals before adding a little glitter ! Background is whisper white card .
This is a similar idea on riding hood red card and firstly stamped in whisper white ink using the holly filigree stamp from the above stamp set, I added more white for the berries with the Signo white pen. The pine cones were stamped and loving cut out before arranging and sticking. Here is a close up of the detail in the card.
The last card is very simple, again stamped with the holly filigree using pear pizzaz and the overstamped in old olive for the holly leaves.
The flowers are punched using the "Itty Bitty" shapes and stuck on with crytsal effects which is so handy as a strong adhesive for little shapes like this as I find glue dots tend to migrate !
I hope you have enjoyed your visit ? I really enjoy your comments and appreciate the time you take to make them, thank you ! I will be continuing this theme at some point but as yet I have no idea what my next post will bring !!! So please do visit again and thanks for stopping by !
Hugs Jane x
