Beautifully Baroque !

Hello ! It's been chilly here in Worcestershire today and there is plenty of rain around - perfect crafting weather !!! I have been playing at making a mini book today for my ladies to make in class - this one is inspired by one designed by my brilliant upline Peg - you can look at her beautiful blog here - http://www.pegcraftalot.com/ ! Peg is very gifted at designing mini books and lovely boxes to hold notecards - I am not, so making the one with her first, gave me some much needed confidence ! I have changed mine up quite a bit and made it bigger and added some pages in and used the framelits labels dies to add some interest to the front cover. I have also used some DSP - Eastern Elegance and smoky slate 12 x 12 textured card stock from the new Seasonal catalogue. The inside is constructed using very vanilla card stock and there are pages and little library ticket style pockets with pull out tickets ( Peg's description - I am old enough to remember them and it's a great description ! )

I've shown lots of photos in this post in the hope that you can see how the whole thing works !!! ??? I haven't mounted photos in the mini book but they could be added to the tickets or pages easily if you wanted to give this as a gift for a special occasion .
I have just put some acrylic paint on a canvas ready for my next project - do come back and visit to see what I have created soon !
Happy crafting !

Contemporary Meets Shabby Chic !!!

Morning ! Yesterday I shared two cards with you that I made as part of a set that my class ladies will be making today ! Here are the other two - you will notice that I have lapsed towards my usual style or as one of my lovely ladies said - contemporary with a shabby twist !!!! I have used the same colours and many stamp sets to create a collage effect - way too many to list here but of course the effect can be achieved with other stamps ! The key thing is to get a balance between the colours - two yellows shouldn't go together but they offset each other nicely and I've used Basic Grey to accent the designs and give definition !

If you are local ( Worcestershire , UK ) and would like to join a class please contact me via the link in my profile above !
Happy crafting !

Now for Something Completely Different ..... !!!

Hello ! Every once in a while I like to push myself to make something which isn't my usual style ; I love shabby but not too antique, like to vintage my crafting up a little but not go too grungy !! What I really don't do is contemporary or geometric and I don't do YELLOW !!!! However , today I have broken all my usual rules and thrown caution to the wind !! LOL ! Here are the results .......

The colours I used for these cards are - Summer Starfruit , Crushed Curry , Basis Grey and Smoky Slate all on a background of Whisper White !
You know - I loved making these cards - who knows , maybe I'll change my signature style !!!! Back soon with the same colour scheme but a little more of me !!!!
Thanks for visiting - Hugs Jane xx

Kind and Cosy !

Hello ! A little late today with my post - I have started my weekly classes today - so nice to be back into the swing of things again !
I have a couple of cards today to share with you and a decorated Kilner jar using the stamp set Kind and Cosy , Gingham wheel and the Wildflower Meadow Bundle which includes a background stamp and embossing folder ! Now , these colours are a little out of my comfort zone as they are not subtle and muted but I like to try new things and really enjoyed working with the DSP Gingham Garden which co-ordinates so beautifully with the set ! This months kit is based on these sets the Wildflower Meadow bundle being available as an add-on ! Please contact me if you would like further details !

Happy crafting and thanks for taking the time to stop by !

Truly Grateful 12 x 12 Layout !

Good Morning !!!
There are so many gorgeous goodies in the new Seasonal catalogue and they are all available to purchase NOW !!! I am very taken with the Autumnal themed stash and the burlap ribbon is a must have - it's just fab and very versatile ! Today I have a layout to share with you using the Sunflower stamp set mixed in with two new stamps - Truly Grateful and Magnificent Maple as well as Gorgeous Grunge from the annual catalogue ! The Burlap ribbon is great for adding texture and I've also featured the new DSP - Sweater Weather in the project ! My absolute favourite is the new Chevron Border Punch - there are so many things you can do with it and I know it will get well used !

My photos are 2 x 3 inches and I don't like to over clutter a layout with too many photos - if I am going to put on more than one I scale the size right down !
Please do drop me a note via the link on my profile above if you have any queries about this project or want to order any products !
Thank you for stopping by !
