Canvases for a Special Girl - Part 2 !

Good Morning ! I have cake baking on the agenda today - it's always touch and go if my cakes turn out well so fingers crossed !! I need to get a wiggle on as I need to get some crafting done today today - a day without crafting just doesn't feel right - do you need to make something every day ?!!!

So, enough chat and here is the second canvas for Rosie ! 

When Rosie was small I introduced her to the Lucy Maud Montgomery books - Anne of Green Gables, Anne of the Island etc and we also loved the films ! Many of Anne's quotes live with you forever and I've put some of our favourites on this canvas ! 

Just found a recipe for Guinness chocolate cake on Pinterest - I know my OH would love it ! Only problem is the recipe is written in Spanish - translator please !!!

12 x 12 Canvases for a Very Special Girl - part 1 !

Hello ! I have been working on some special projects for my daughter - I have already shared with you a quote book that I made for her 21st birthday and today I have the first of two 12 x 12 canvases to show ! The plan is mount them eventually in ivory or light oak frames but the size is difficult to get hold of ! However - I have had some success today so plan to check them out soon weather permitting !! Here is the first - they are blue themed as this is the colour my daughter loves and it will be the colour of her bedroom when she leaves home - so she tells me ! They are a little vintage for her but I think a contemporary frame will tone them down a little ! 

We all have favourite verses/poems/books we used to read to our children when they little and a particular favourite in our house was always Winnie the Pooh - he gives such good advice on life and I just love this verse and it seemed apt for a child who is about to become a true adult - just to let her know that I will always be there for her !

Ampersand Textured Impressions Card for the Boys !

Morning ! I am gradually getting all the birthday cards for the family under my belt and have the one I made for my OH to share with you today ! I'm not great at boys cards - I suppose I can't make them pretty so find them quite difficult - the temptation to add lace or a shabby flower is just too strong !! LOL !! My colours are Sahara Sand , Raspberry Ripple , Primrose Petals and Island Indigo ( although the blue in particular did not come out well on my photos !!! )

Looking at the photos - none of the colours are great - sorry !

I have use lovely washi tape to accent the card and found some Hardware Clips in my goodie box - they seemed to go quite nicely !! I used the Perfect Pennants stamp set and Banners Framelits die set with the giant Ampersand ( embossing folder ) cut out ! The birthday sentiment is from Blue Ribbon and the embossing folder Alphabet Press made a nice textured background !

Perfect Pennants Birthday Card !

Good Morning ! It's so lovely and Springlike this morning - wonderful to see the sun and blue skies ! I've been making birthday cards and have one to show you today which I have made for my daughter Rosie ! I based the card on Natural Composition DSP - cut into A5 - and added a lot of pastel shabby flowers, some pennants from the Perfect Pennants stamp set and a pretty doily ! 

My pastel colours are Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla and Soft Sky and I have accented with Baked Brown Sugar - I used Very Vintage Designer Buttons for the centres of the flowers.

Banner Blast meets Tape it Card !!!

Hello ! The family have been off work/college this week so I don't get as much crafting done !!! We have caught up with some friends and I've been out shopping which is something I haven't been able to do for a few years now !!! I'm starting to experience the joys of my new bionic hip and it's great !!!! Enough chatter - onto the crafting !!!! Here is a card I've made for my lovely future Son-in-Law - it's his birthday this weekend  !!

I used a mix of the following stamp sets -

Banner Blast 

Some Washi tape adds a different texture and I used all Howard's favourite shades of blues and greens !

Mini Book for my Daughter !

Hello ! We had a brief taste of Spring days to come today - it's lovely when the air feels fresh and the days start to get noticeably longer ! I have lots of family birthdays to plan for in late February and very early March - three out of the four of us celebrate birthday's within nine days of each other - so there is always lots of cake around at this time of year and lots of card making and present wrapping !
Today I have a mini book to share with you that I have made for my daughter Rosie; like me she loves quotes so I've put together some of my favourite ones to inspire her ! The book is made from Coaster board and the covers from the card that protect the board in transit - so the book measures 6x6 inches ( 15 cms ) ! 

This is a very photo heavy post but I enjoy lots of inspirational photos on other blogs I follow !!! I printed the quotes onto SU vellum and added lots of stamping and floral embellishments to make it pretty !!! At the end is tiny letter contained in a small envelope made on the Stampin' Up punchboard!

This is a special gift and I hop emu daughter loves it as much I enjoyed making it !!!

Follow My Heart Valentines Card !

Good Morning ! 
Such a beautiful morning here in Worcestershire - lovely Winter sunshine and a gentle breeze ! However, we are surrounded by flood waters and more rain is on the way - our little village even made the national news !!! I have been crafting and planning and today I have another Valentines card to share with you using two of the special Valentines sets - Flowerfull Heart and Follow My Heart combined with Stippled Blossoms and a new set Peaceful Petals. There are lots of layers on this A5 card and I've used lots of dimensionals ! 

Although this is a pastel card you do need to add some deep tones or your work will look washed out ! I used the following inks - pink pirouette, blushing bride , primrose petals and crumb cake ( the last two are accent colours). Then to add more definition I stamped the leaf spray onto brushed gold card stock ! 

I hope Hubbie likes it !!!!

Flowerfull Heart Valentines Card !

Hello !!! I love to make Valentines cards for one main reason - I can indulge my love of PINK !!! I have an A5 one to share with you today which I have made for my daughter Rosie - we always send Valentines to each member of the family !! The base is pink pirouette card over very vanilla and it has a layer of Fancy Foil Designer Vellum from the new catalogue which has tiny gold hearts all over - it's gorgeous and I have lots of plans for projects to make with it - watch this space !!!

I'm sorry the colure are a little off - light levels are awful and it's made me realise that I really do need to invest in a light box - or maybe I'm just a bad photographer !!! I have also added some Watercolour Wonder Washi Tape and laid my doily under the vellum ! My flower is made using the scallop circle punch but if you can't be fussed to do all that cutting SU have now available a Spiral Flower die which does it all for you !!! The little pennant was stamped from Follow My Heart ( only available until Valentines day ) and the new gold Bakers Twine picks up the gold in the vellum and wash tape !!!

Vintage Stampin' Up Papillon Album !

Hello ! I had fun this week raiding my retired stamp sets and having a play with some of my old favourites ! I produced what was meant to be a mini album but it ended up being rather larger - 12 x 6 inches to be precise - so I called it an album ! I love butterflies so found out all my favourite ones and put them all together; the idea of this project is to add poems/quotes/photos to the album and then gift it to someone special - or you can keep it yourself !!!! Here are some photos - I'll talk you through as we go along ......

Front cover - Made from a whole piece of Coaster Board ( as is the back cover ) - ink stamps on to this surface so beautifully ! It's stamped collage style with a big blue flower and some pretty butterfly embellishments ! I have broken the rules by putting my ribbon down the centre - but I like it there !!

The pages inside are all different lengths with fancy edges - all the pages and cover are sponged around the edges with crumb cake ink ! 

I printed off some free vintages images onto vellum and added these to the pages along with stamped images - most of which are of a botanical theme !

Some of the pages have little pockets for storing precious items !

Angled Tag Topper Punch - 12x12 Layout !

Morning ! We are under a lot of water here in Worcestershire and today will not help as we are experiencing more rain and high winds again !!! The dogs and cats want to be inside and who can blame them,  so do I, it is after all great crafting weather !!!! Here is the second layout - exactly the same design in a different colour way ! This one features the second new punch - the Angled Tag Topper Punch !
